Hi all,

Can someone help with a plan or measurements of the total height of the 2 filter drums and their end fixings as used on the 1.2 HES?

I am making some crates for them to go in restored bunkers but we only have the upper filters!

Or did each filter drum come in its own crate rather than a set???

According to drawings, the length of the bakelit part is 41 cm. I guess it is equal tu the filter one ??

Hi,
From a friend received this picture of a HES with steel "zwischenstuck" in stead of the bakelite example.
It's hanging in the atlantikwallmuseum Hoek van Holland.

I wonder if this was done more often, or maybe it is a luftschutz model?

I suspect its a solution because the bakelite tube is expensive to make, so maybe late war production? There are no markings on it. It is a 2.4 by the way..

Not for Luftschutz. This is the earlier solution to 'safe' the cowl filters. Later the came with the 'three way' valve solution. I don't rember the exact date, but there is a paper with this info. Tim; Malcolm is searchign for crates, i thought you have some?

My question was more about the steel version of the zwischenstuck.. i have only seen "kunstharz/bakelite" examples, except from the picture in the post above.

So i'm really curious of this was doen more common, or its just a one time solution of maybe even post war??
