Hi, that's a better picture!
Nice to see the motor and powerswitch..
In the Manuel is says, before turning on the motorswitch give it a few manual turns.
Otherwise the motor won't get things moving

Heeres-Einheitsschutzlüfter (HES) 1,2 and 2,4 (vertical position)
Heeres-Einheitsschutzlüfter (SL) 1,2 and 2,4 (vertical position)
Hello,
In the "Norm und TypenBlätter", one can find an image of the SL 1.2 and 2.4 mounted vertical in combination with a "Umgehungsleitung" (drawing 2109, 2110).
SL may be "Seitenlüfter".
Normally the filter unit has the fan part mounted horizontal with the air flow, top/down.
Mounted vertically the fresh air comes in below the unit, follows the "Umgehungsleitung" then down the filters and the goes horizontally through the fan unit and out up again. Or via a valve under the filterunits directly into the fan unit.
The HES 1.2 and 2.4, fan units have a fixed outlet which normally goes up from a horizontal position. So if you mount the unit vertical the outlet point out horizontal, not up (point A). So the LS versions are not simple tilted HES units (as far a I can imagine).
Also the hand crank and/or motor assembly is/must be different.
Does anybody have pictures of such a mounted position and/or drawings of the parts needed to make this work?

Hi Wim.
I think:
This is not a "normal" HES, but another type of Shutz Lufter.. i think like you say designed for luftschutz.
The carbon filters do look the same as the HES filters..
Maybe you can find more info/picture in Koos Bosma's Schuilstad book?
Gr, Tim

Hello everyone,
In some bunkers, a writing telling "do not use the ventilator if there is a gas attack" can be found : so what was the function of this ventilator ? Only to filter dust or to bring air inside the bunker in addition to the ventilation pipes ? Thank you (source of the picture : http://www.bunkerart.nl/welcome.html)

Hello Leo,
As easy as it is : all fans are not equiped with filters.
In some bunkers there are both fans with filters and fans without filters, the second ones are used for daily use. Most of them are 10m3 without the heavy filters.
It would be good to see an examplen with the sk or regelbau such marking is.

Hello Eax-E,
Thank you very much for your answer, it has enlightened me a lot ! I found a bunker with this writing, it was appearantly a LS reused maybe to shelter offices or machines, by a Kriegsmarine radar station near Boulogne. Here is a better description at the deep of this page : viewtopic.php?f=70&t=104542&start=60
