In the book by Air War Italy 1944–45 by Nick Beale, Ferdinando D’Amico and Gabriele Valentini, there is a picture of a captured Browning gun from a crashed airplane reworked into a close defence weapon.

Hello Kurt

It’s not a MG 151/20, it’s a 2 cm FF/FFM !! A very interesting picture.
There is a drawing of this type of gun mount on page 165 in Anders Johansen’s book about Flugplatz Aalborg Ost (drawed by himself), but I have never seen a photo of one until now.
Seems to be identical with the type of Sockel used for Vierlings-MG 17.

Greetings
Lars

Hey Lars

Ok - thanks, the photo caption of that picture was "151/20".

I also found this one today:

"4 pcs. of Heavy MG from a damaged FW 190" - NOTE: Also the caption of the picture :)

Hello Kurt

Nice picture. Seems to be a Vierlings-MG 17, but much simpler than the standard mount.
Maybe a field improvisation, or an early version?

greetings
Lars

I don't know if this "conversion" falls under the right category here...
From an expired ebay auction.

Hello Valtoro

The gun shield look a lot like this one http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=125462
also think that the gun is the same as on the Topic .

I am pretty sure that your picture depicts a MG 151/20.
