yes the bunker is in Italy. In Genoa.
I think it's not german but Italian (I suppouse).
It was built to defend the Harbour.
just a question... have you seen other similar bunkers?

Re: German bunkers in Italy
Has anyone got the coordinates for the above bunker. I've been from one end of Genoa to the other, and a bit further, and can't find a match for the land, buildings or road.

Re: German bunkers in Italy
Yeah, that was the only spot that made any sense but as you say a lot of building has taken place. The buildings up top, amongst the trees, certainly match.
Is that another bunker about half way up the slope, smooth concrete with curved corners.
Tom.

Looks like you have to dig, long and deep.
Maybe you can be lucky: under the lighthouse richt side it looks like there is something.

Re: German bunkers in Italy
Yes, the place is correct.
It's the PUNTA VAGNO Battery.
It has two assignment: anti Aircraft and coastal defence.
4 x 102/35 Ansaldo Guns and a couple of St, Etienne 8mm
It's one of the few batteries in genoa of the Regia Marina (Royal Navy)
This from june 1940 to second half of 1944. All the bunkers were build after july 1944
Please, note the regelbau above, and another one was not too far

Re: German bunkers in Italy
Anyone knows how many German Batteries were built around La Spezia?
And what type of guns these had?
Greetings Jack.
