German bunkers in Italy
I myself have attempted to search for the Viserba bunkers but without success. I have gone from Rimini to the North of Viserba and have found no trace. It's hard to work out exactly where they would be sited and whether, since the war, they have been destroyed.
The whole coast line is very flat has been densely built on since the war with high concentrations of buildings all along the coast.
Any ideas? Should I be looking further inland? Further North? 44°05'03.94"N, 12°32'27.13"E
Below are some photo scans and a map of my adventures to the Futa Pass where I located the Casemate, three Tobruks and the most likely site of the Pantherturm. I visited in the summer of 2003 and apparently, only a matter of weeks before, some heavy duty digging work was carried out on the field in the specific area indicated, and this was confirmed by the adjacent household. All the fields in the area are grazed grass so all features can clearly be seen and the digging area only covered a 10mx10m approximate area.
Even though I found no evidence of concrete fragments I concluded from the photos that it was an ideal postion to look down the southern approach that turns behind the hill in the distance. Also the close proximity of the Tobruk 3, presumably as cover/security.

Hi,
When some of you go on vacation, you do it with the specific purpose of hunting bunkers. When my wife and I go we, cannot stay at a hotel if it is even partly made of concrete. So my wife was somewhat dismayed, when during our recent vacation to Bibione, Italy we came across this beauty just to the east of the town of Lignano right by the yacht-harbour.
It looks German to me, but I cannot identify the type.

You can also see that there is a ridge on the roof, which means that there was a opening under it.
The ridge is on the side where the outer wall is sloped........
But i think that the scharte was closed, or the roof is a bit to thick, SES, do you have any pictures
of the sloped front??
No??
well lets say that behind every strong man there is a strong woman!!!
Damn you are strong..........)
Greetings Jack.
