It looks like this gun expanded a lot of shells during the fighting when one looks at the pile on the left !

Hi Kurt

Nice picture , this photo is taken a while later . As you can see the American engineer troops are building a
pier to unload material and troops because all the other docks in the harbor were destroyed .

Photo = U.S. Signal Corps

Regards Jos

P.S. please note the 631 in the back on both picture's .

I think that the best website to see the picture posted by Kurt is “Archives de la Manche” on-line:
http://recherche.archives.manche.fr/?id ... &img_num=1

We can obtain a great close-up of the 631/SK casemate in the background:

Jos,

Yes, there are 75 mm CA Mle 1922 with shield. There is another picture with the front view posted by Sturm78 on 23 Jul 2011 at 10:46 here:
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... &start=900

You can even see the same tower in the background as on your last picture and maybe even the side of the house.

The surrender of the 667 casemate can be found in a British Pathe footage called "Invasion scenes" . Here are some stills:
