Hello All

Please come all to Walcheren in Holland , there
is the only R. 700 with roof in a very good condition .
There were at least 5 x R. 700 build on Walcheren ,
by my knowledge the only R. 700 in the Atlantikwall .
Here is one drawing from the original plan and one of
the R. 700 build near Koudekerke , the 2 drawings
looks very different . Photo's http://www.lcbunkers.com/bunkerbehoud/

Hello,
Have you seen this thesis on the Atlantikwall by Dr. Thorsten Heber? (Also includes summaries of the various Regelbau's)
http://www.ub.uni-duesseldorf.de/home/e ... &year=2003

Warning: very large file (about 160mb!)

Hello,

Does anyone know what was the name (number) of armoured plate used for the roof in R700? It looks taht there was used another system of signage than in older armoured parts (e.g "78P9")

Hello Herring

On the drawing there are 2 numbers
for the roof F Pz.K. 2345
for the doors F Pz.G. 6045
as you said this is a new kind of
numbering for the armoured pieces.

The Germans called this kind of (new) numbering the Fertigungskennzeichen.

Quite interesting for me. Please, notice that this same type of signage you have in all 700 series and in 687. Has anyone noticed any other Regelbauten with this style of numbering? And - does anyone know, where does this numbering origin from? It looks a similar style as in numbering of "Gerats" for Ringstanden.

Hello ducatim901 ,

Do you know, when they started to use this type of numbering? It looks, like for some parts it was quite early, e.g. table for 7P7 for lafette for MG08 is called F.Pz.K 2801, also special tank turrets used for fortifications have similar names e.g. F.Pz DT 4804. System looks similar, doesn't it?

Hi All

Found the F.Pz.G numbers also on a drawings from
612 , 621 , 669 and 677 from a report 15-08-1944
So I think that it's other numbering of the armoured parts.

Hello

Would like to persue this topic a little bit further.

What about the R700, said to be the only one in Vlissingen Landfront - but maybe 9 more in Holland?
Rolf mentiones 4 pcs. in AOK 15?

R701 - 1 in AOK 7?

R702 - None? (47 pcs planned in Denmark)!!

R703 - Pantherstellung in Holland - 1 remains, but there are mentioned 9? Rolf mentions 4 in Holland?

R704 - 4 pcs. are mentioned - Rolf mentiones 0?

How many were buildt of the R700 series? And where? Are any more left?

Any more drawings and / or pictures?

Regards
Kurt

So I think that it's other numbering of the armoured parts.
Late arrival here... So maybe you figured out allready?

According to the new "Gerätliste D97/1" printed 1st July 1943, the armoured parts now carried these "Kurzbenennung" numbers after a new system. It seems like the old one was still kept in the manuals, maybe becouse they allready were quite good embedded in the system, like the "Panzer Atlas".

Anyway, this seems like a quite good system, as it describes left/right hinged doors, and even the difference between optics in the the Panzertürme... E.g. the 20P7 & 35P7 each got FOUR different FPzT-numbers, giving details on the optics - Stuff you won`t find in the Panzer-Atlas:

20P7 - FPzT3005 - Zeiss-Optik, alte Lager
20P7 - FPzT3006 - Zeiss-Optik, neue Lager
20P7 - FPzT3007 - Busch-Optik
20P7 - FPzT3007 - Busch-Optik, Zwischenlösung

Here are the abbreviations used:
FPzB = Panzerbauteile für Beobachtung
FPzK = Panzerbauteile für Kasematten, Kasemattänlicher Kampfstande und Unterstellsraume
FPzT = Panzerbauteile mit Festeingebauten Panzer-Kuppeln für Waffeneinsatz (Türme)
FPzDT = Panzerbauteile mit Drehbaren Panzer-Kuppeln (Türme)
FPzE = Panzerbauteilefür Decken- und Wandeeinsätze
FPzG = Bauteile für Gangabschlüsse (Türen)
FPzS = Sonderbauteile für ständige Befestigungen

Which translates some of Jos` list into:

F.Pz.G. 6304 = 19P7 Linksausf.
F.Pz.G. 6025 = 434P01 Rechtsausf.
F Pz.K. 2345 = Grabenscharten-platte
F.Pz.G. 6026 = 434P01 Linksausf.
F.Pz.G. 6040 = 728P3 Rechtsausf.
For some reason, the backdoors haven`t got a "Panzer Atlas" number, so they are not translateable...
Explanation could be that these were not produced until after 1. July 1943?
