Unknown Ringstand.

On a map i found the site marked with the sign as seen below. There is nothing else besides the ringstand on that site, but im not sure if the sign is for the ringstand.

Added some older photos of the ringstand mentioned earlier in the tread.

Are both these post about the same bunker? Just asking, because the bunker in the photos do have some objects nearby (a tunnel and a foundation wall + a WR radar foundation and a Flak-position in the proximity). The bunker is situated on top of a small and steep hill, so a minefield around it would seem unlikely..?

The festepunkt marked on the map is at a "ostseite des Fußweg zum scheinwerfer".The minefield is below the hill, both on the eastside, and westside.) The foundation wall as you mention is marked with red dot. The markings is on the same hill as the ringstand, no doubt about that. Perhaps SES is right, this is for a kind of small searchlight. Wasnt my intetion making this more difficult than it is, just want to know what this ringstand have been for.

My first thought when I saw the photo's from Natter were that the concrete pivot was used for the 7.62mm Maxim M1910 machinegun, the wholes in the concrete for the wheels and the the iron clips to fix the axcle of the machine gun ???

I have no clue, but to me the Maxim gun seem a little large (wheel diametre and axle-lenght)? Should be easy to determine if someone has the measurements of the gun (was this type of weapon even present at Herdla?).

this topic started with a ringstand with a rear entrance...
here's another one, from a unknown post war photocollection... but for me it looks like the ringstand at Oostduinkerke (BE) which defends the eastern boundary of the Wn Waldersee (just next to the fence of the hospital there).

I think the tobruk Trench connecting brick.entrance rear is rare.

Hello Jean

There are 8 tobruks existing in the WN Waldersee + 1 for tank turret : 4 of them have a rear entrance and 2 are normal Bf 58c. 2 are completely buried under the sand so that I don't know the exact type.

If I recognized the position right, the airfield of Arques was on the other side of the road.
