Malcolm,
The door is 70cm width...
But please check the blue encircled dimensions.
Tobruk_weird_01.jpg
The overall thickness ia about 40 cm. Based on the width 235cm. If I split the difference between the 40 and 60 we get 50cm back wall. This brings the inside "thickness" at the steps to 40.
So the width of the steps gets crucial too.

Hi Moonraker,
The 3 Tobruks of this design at Wn. Carriere were all fitted with the standard 80cm wide ring for a revolving M.G. 34 mounting. There was also a Tobruk for mounting a FT17 turret at the Wn. but it was of a different design and has been partly demolished.
Regards,
Malcolm

Hi jos, it's wassenaarseslag in augustus '44 it was 2./SS ausbildung und ersatzbattl. 12
also V.B. 21./SSbatterie (maybe v......beobachtung?)
but there is also the regional design hexagonal observationbunker built in the complex (attached to the tunnels)..
EDIT: in january 1944 there was 3./31 (16 lw feld division).
gr, Tim

Hi Tim,
If you are right with the Beobachtung, then V means Vorgeschobene.

ola jack, good thinking!
now i wonder if the hexagonal towe, the tobruk or both were in favor of the artillerie...
given the fact tthat there are 3 more hexagonal towers between katwijk and scheveningen they could be peilstande for the marinebatterie's or regular observationbunkers?
(EDIT: dont seem logic mar. peilstand in heeres stutzpunkt..)
do you know the exact function of the one at M.A.A. 201?

for the record:
the 21./SS batterie was the artilleriebatterie at bellesteijn (4X15.5 cm geschutz)
