Hello

On photo's from this Luftwaffe 8,8 cm flak battery
at Le Havre you can see on some photo's the L 401a
and on other photo's the flakbettung from the
"Entwickelungsbericht der Waffenkommission Fest."
also used in Northern France and Belgium .
Is this flak battery a mixed of the both types ???

Regards Jos

Hello Sebastien

Thanks you very much for the great map , it helps a lot
you can see the bettung with the large spinterwall .
Here are the 2 drawing from the Luftwaffe part of the
"Entwickelungsbericht der Waffenkommission Fest"
On the left the Leitstand and at the right the gunbettung ,
there are also bunkers for searchlight and others
The only problem I have that I can't the L 401a on your
drawing .

Drawings = Hans Sakkers

Thanks Alain

For the correction on the 3./193 , some original maps called it also 08a i.s.o. 023 .
The bunker on the photo is a typical L 401a please see the place for the concrete
roll blocks and the typical round form in the corner .

Yep

A other strang strange thing on this Luftwaffebatterie is that the flakbettungen on
2 of the "Entwickelungsbericht der Waffenkommission Fest." bunkers are round
as you can see on the arialpicture of Alain , normaly they are squire .

A few pictures of the position discussed at the beginning of this post:

Picture of the FuMG 39 T “Würzburg” of the battery:

Another view of the battery (the radar can be seen on the upper left corner):
http://lehavrephoto.canalblog.com/image ... r00264.jpg

These 2 pictures above are supposed to show Le Havre beach in 1941. I doubt that the Germans had already installed a small Würzburg at that time as well as built extensive concrete Flak emplacements that year. What do you think?

Two pictures of an MG 34 post at the end of battery towards Ste-Adresse, on the other side of the boulevard. On the background, a building on the beach had been fitted with a concrete observation post on the roof:

http://lehavrephoto.canalblog.com/image ... er0053.jpg

And finally picture of the battery’s “Berta” gun (from page 2 of
http://maquette-garden.forumactif.com/o ... 994-20.htm).
