A group of soldiers of the SS-Germania Regiment in a French town; interesting to observe the weapons and equipment they carry, the soldier on the left carries the bipod of a mortar (8.0 cm Granatwerfer 34) on his shoulder and is armed with the old P 08 Luger 9 mm automatic pistol and the soldier from the center the reliable K98k rifle with fixed bayonet (it seems to me) .....................................................

The soldier on the left is carrying an anti-aircraft tripod for a machine gun, not a mortar bipod.

Several months ago I already did such a thread:

https://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic ... 1&t=231723

The interest in it was "moderate". On top, don't make the mistake that I did, you can't edit your post after some time.

I'm not trying to sound antagonistic, but I'm very confused by this thread. Haven't comprehensive lists (with accompanying photos and illustrations) of WWII German small arms been published already, and since the 1950's? Is there new ground being broken here that hasn't been exposed before, or am I missing the point?

Thank you in advance for clarifying this for me,
Pat
