WW2 Afrika Korps Frog?

I just got this out of a house. Can anyone tell me if this is a WW2 made German desert, tropical or late war bayonet frog?

Yes, original German canvas frog. Made for tropical issue and made through out the war years, late war issued where ever available as supplies of leather became scarce. Only way of categorizing it would be if it had a readable date. Of course, everyone calls them tropical Afrika Korps frogs.
Nice frog.

Weren't these also used in Italy and in Med-based locations? Seems like it would have been region-appropriate, and in the same regional supply chain.

Yes, certainly initially.... But as supplies became scarce, they (and other tropical intended supplies like "Y straps", canteens, belts, etc.) Were issued anywhere. Certainly supplies would be more available in the warmer climates, but issue late war was any and everywhere.
