WW2 German Ammo Box

is this a WW2 German ammo box and if so for what projectile or munition? The box measures approx 7 x 15 x 15. Thanks

Morning,
it seems to me that this is a storage box for fuses (artillery shells) packaged in Bakelite cases. An insulating coating is normally found inside it.
