A good friend of mine (also a Collector) went on a Raid and found a fully functional MP44 in fantastic condition with a stack of spare clips and ammo . He REALLY wanted it but...they didn't find what they were looking for so , they had no reason to confiscate it since each Home is allowed to have 1 Full Auto Weapon in Iraq. He was thinking of making the guy an offer for it but ..in the end there would have been no way to get it home.

Beretta M938A, M14, Hakim. K98 (and/or variations thereof), Carcano M91 Moschetto da Cavalleria, MAS-49/56. A logistical nightmare!

...but the dream of many collectors ;)

@ trapperP
There was a general thread about post war StGs around the world and those pics were discussed there.

Cheers

Rifles with bayonettes are Czech vz.52/57 ( http://world.guns.ru/rifle/rfl14-e.htm ) - two of them. 8-)
Think I see one M16 as well.

vz.52/57 indeed :) I believe the M16 is another MAS-49/56 though.

It's a small detail - you're probably right. :)

"K98", however, is some foreign (or export) model - see characteristic bayonet lug.
(My theory - Spanish, via Egypt)
