The top two MG 13s have the normal flash hider while the bottom feeder has a blank-firing device fitted.

Re: German MGs Id
All LMG photos are MG-08/15.
MMG photo is a problem. DMW-made Maxim 08s for export (labelled M.09) were made with such tripods - captured MG is an option, but not likely one. There was also a German tripod, issued as the dreifuss 16 (literally "three foot" or tripod), an alternate standard mount for the MG08 (see: http://www.armeetpassion.com/mg08.html#haut )
It seems that this (posed) photo is taken after the flash-hider is taken and blank firing attachment not placed yet.

Thank you very much for your answer, The Edge.
This MG have not the typical wooden shoulder stock and the pistol grip with trigger installed at the bottom of the receiver of the MG08/15.
Was the standard bipod of MG08/15 mid-mounted or front-mounted?
Here another picture of a 7.92mm MG08/15 MG in service with the Wehrmacht.

Are you sure my first image posted on 22 Dec 2009 (.92mm MG on tripod.jpg ) is a 7.92mm MG08/15?All LMG photos are MG-08/15.

Re: German MGs Id
I have spoken about tripod-mounted gun as "MMG" (So, it is MG-08 medium machine gun. )Sturm78 wrote:Thank you very much for your answer, The Edge.

Just be aware not to call it MG-08/16 (because of "M.08" tripod) because there was MG-08/16 "univerzal" machine gun, not put in production (but M.16 tripod - designed for it - was later used for basic MG-08)
Standard bipod of MG08/15 in WW1 was mid-mounted; I'm not sure about Interwar or WW2 use.
Re: German MGs Id
Thank you very much again, The Edge.
What was the difference between Dreifuss 16 tripod for MG08, the tripod developed for MG16 and the tripod for MG09?

Re: German MGs Id
Dreifuss 16 tripod developed for MG-08/16 was later used for MG-08, only "the MG08 had a slightly different mounting system than the MG-08/16, and therefore required an adapter to be used on the tripod."Sturm78 wrote:What was the difference between Dreifuss 16 tripod for MG08, the tripod developed for MG16 and the tripod for MG09?
Earalier commercial DMW Maxim mounts were more solid & less advanced (not adjustable length of tripod legs)
Examples: (Maybe you could spot something more - at Midnight time my eyes are little "spent" )
1) DMW M.02 (commercial photo)
2) DMW M.09 Paraguayo (Cal. 7.65x53mm)
3) Montenegrin DMW M.1912 (Cal. 7.62x54mmR)

Re: German MGs Id
Oooppppssss. I am sorry, The Edge. I have too much information without order in my computer.
I have two other interesting images yet (from Ebay):
Image 1: I think 7.92mm MG13 almost certain. I need confirmation.
Image 2: MG34 without doubt, but with a rare front tripod and middle bipod also coupled.
Regards Sturm78
