It is ZB-26 or ZB-26. Look at gunner's left hand's palm - before it the unmistakable dial of rear sight is visible.

To me it looks like a water-cooled Browning 1919 with a shoulder stock adapted for AA use.

Hi all,

Not german machine gun but....

Can somebody help me to identify this twin MG mount? According to photocaption in Canadian service
I think probably 12.7mm 0.5in Browning M1921 on a naval twin mount. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance. Sturm78

These are .50 M2s, not M1921s. Instant giveaway is front part of the water jacket, as in M2 water jacket was co-axial with barrel and in M1921 it had "classic" looks.
As for the mount, it was used by both US Army - as M46 pedestal mount and US Navy - as Mk 22.

Can you upload any picture of the M1921 model, to see the differences? :?

I did not know these mounts.
Apparently there was a great variety of mounts for these guns, both naval and land.

This link http://www.antiaircraft.org/50mg.htm mentions some of them but not these double mounts
Do you have a list of all the mounts used during World War II for these heavy machine guns?

Here's the picture:
.50 M1921_.50M2.jpg
It's a scan of page 38 from "The Browning Machine Gun, Volume IV, Semper Fi FIFTY!".
As for the mounts used during WW2, the site you mentioned has it well covered, as far as I can tell, comparing it with aforementioned book. The double mount M46 / Mk 22 is the only manually operated multiple mount for .50 M2 I know of.
