Finnish Lindelöf smg

Post by SVaaka » 07 Jul 2013 10:01

This was nearly exact copy of Swiss Bergmann m/20 smg. Something like 50-60 pieces known to be manufactured. They were sold out of Finland in 1960 to Interarms Co - Wonder if they completely disappeard cause I have never ever seen even a photo of one. They were just like Swiss m/20, but moore cruedly finished and ofcouse in cal 7.65 Parabellum. Has anyone ever seen one or has photos of one? Certainly it is one of rearest of the kind.

Sotamuseo probably has at least one, since "Sotilaskäsiaseet Suomessa 1918 - 1988" by Palokangas part 2 has photographs showing Lindelöf submachine gun in pages 233 and 235 and mentions that two of these weapons have survived in museum collections of Finnish Armed Forces. However I don't remember seeing any in their exhibitions. According Palokangas there are also few in Finnish private collections. Most remaining Lindelöf were sold along Bergmann submachine guns to Interarms, which exported them year 1960.

I'm fairly certain that the second picture, the one with the soldier aiming from the passenger seat of a car, is a movie still from a fairly recent movie. I can't pin-point it exactly though right now.
