Need help with LUGER 1916 Unit markings

#1

Post by dk598 » 14 Aug 2016, 05:21

All,

First of all, thank you for at least looking at this post. I have this luger (1916 DWM) with unit markings on the strap. I need help with identifying the unit. Unfortunately, part of the markings was ground off :x This is driving me crazy to figure out.

I can make out, "L.J.R. 33 _ _ _ _ _ 4. Any thoughts?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Correct.
The others marks or numbers are for Bataillon and Kompanie.

Great input! I used a digital magnifier and obtained the below photo for the batallion/Kompanie. I think the left character is a "K"
