Fucile Armaguerra Mod. 39 Italian Semi-Auto Rifle

I recently came across this Italian semi automatic rifle. I am not really a specialist on Italien equipment, so what can you guys tell me?

I read the following, not sure if this is true or not:

There was an official order for 10,000 pieces.

Around 2000 in the 7.35mm variant and "a few hundred units" in the 6.5mm variant were produced, thus strongly implying that they were to at least some degree used.

The Fucile Armaguerra Mod. 39 would have actually become widespread had Italy not aborted the conversion to the 7.35mm caliber. The reintroduction of the 6.5mm required the Mod. 39 to be redesigned and by the time the new guns chambered in 6.5mm began to roll out, Italy was already collapsing.

Some Italian sources mentions it being used by the Italian Social Republic.

Are there any indications if this weapon was ever used in combat by the Italian Forces in WW2?

Are there any photos which show this weapon in use?

Hchris,
Are you going to purchase one of these? I can look up more information on these tomorrow for you, but I don't know how much I'll be able to find.

Oh no sadly I am not going to purchase one :-(

I just came across this fascinating rifle on the Internet and wondered if there was any more info on this one and it's usage.

More info would be very welcome :-)

Which Italian sources claimed it was actually used in combat? Because I can't seen to find any that suggest so

I'm away from my books until Wednesday, but try and find a copy of Ralph Riccio's 'Italian Small Arms of the First and Second World Wars.'
