Help IDing this P08

#1

Post by 1VETTE1 » 03 Jun 2020, 03:55

My dad gave me this when I was 15 years old. I'm now 73. He didn't tell me how he obtained it. The P08 is stamped 1937 and all part numbers match. It also has foundry stamps. The pearl grips have always been on the weapon and it has never been reblued. It looks like it was made yesterday. I'm trying to find out as much as I can about this P08. Any help or suggestions on gathering more info would be greatly appreciated. If someone needs more photos, let me know. Thanks and say safe!

Ps. Yes, I have fired the P08; works great!

Hi 1VETTE1,

Have you tried this place:
https://luger.gunboards.com/forum.php

New collector's board in there probably the best place online for P08 questions. Photographs of pistol's markings are essential for info.

Earlier version of the 1937. Trigger, take down lever, safety, and ejector all were strawed or goldish colored.
Grips are not original to the pistol.
You might try the Luger Forum or Pistole Parabellum site.
They will want detailed pics showing markings, etc.
Hard to tell anything from the one you furnished here.
