MG34 and MG 42 barrel

Hello,

I was wondering if there is any difference between the barrel of a MG34 and a MG42. I think they both have a 7.92mm barrel. Is this correct?
And how can I see which one belongs to the right gun? Are there any markings which tell that?

The difference is on the other end of the barrel where bolt locks to it. Mg-42 has a square end where as mg-34 has round end. Hard to explain in English

as it´s not my native language, I´ll try to find some image on the net. Also if I remember correctly 42 has shorter barrel.
