WW2 German Dress Bayonet
Is this a WW2 manufactured German dress bayonet? Does anyone know what the stamp represents (maker)? Thanks
Re: WW2 German Dress Bayonet
Porcelain44,
the emblem on the handle of this "Ausgehseitengewehr" for sure a former blank weapon from a member of the "Nationalsozialistische Kriegsopferversorgung" (NSKOV)
Hans
P.S. English term almost always "Dress Bayonet".
Nonsense, a german "Ausgehseitengewehr" was never mountable on a rifle, or carbine, a purely ornamental weapon worn with a dress uniform, privately purchased.

NS-Kriegsopferversorgung https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/NS-KriegsopferversorgungThe Nationalsozialistische Kriegsopferversorgung (NSKOV) was a welfare institution affiliated with the NSDAP for severely war-damaged persons and front-line soldiers of the First World War. The head (commissioner for war victims) of the NSKOV was Hanns Oberlindober.

By the way, the trad. german winding of a so called ("Troddel") "tassel" at the time, explains itself somewhat in this old print.
But it's a difficult subject, so this is just a starting point for your question...

Is a small, but fine "science" for itself, the German forums for blank weapons are overflowing with these topics...

Re: WW2 German Dress Bayonet
Thanks for the info. Do you recognize the stamp on the blade? Is it a maker's stamp?

Porcelain44,
so far unfortunately not, and now please do not ask about the possible collector's value.

Another link to a former auction on eMedals from the year 2017.

Correction to my incorrect statement above, some of these blank weapons were "mountable" after all.
Please excuse this hasty statement.
