WW2 German Mortar?

Post by Porcelain44 » 20 Sep 2023 13:34

Can anyone tell me if this fin is from a WW2 German mortar of some kind? It has green paint on it and is stamped "BW" in a couple of places. Thanks.

From the construction and shape of the fins this looks more to me like an American 60 mm mortar round. What is the measurement across the fins? It could also be from the French 60 MM Brandt predecessor of which I have no pictorial data.

I found some pics of original Brandt 60 MM ammo and would tend to believe, if it measures out to 60 MM, this is a US 60 MM round or foreign clone.

The fin on the 60mm appears a bit different from the one I have posted here, so I am not sure it is a match.
