unknow BULLET???

Looks like some kind of equipment used for welding.......
Why make a copper bullet with treads?

I think these 2 items are not made for each other!?

Erik E - may well be on to something here! A month ago I showed a pic.
of 'unknown bullet' to a VERY informed fraternaty of ammunition collectors
who all hummed and ho-ed and shook their heads...until one tradesman
amongst them said 'hey that "bullet" is the tip of a MIG-welder!'
Another metal-worker amongst them took a second look - and concurred.
I know nothing about MIG-welding - but these learned gentlemen agreed
that 'unknown bullet' might be a home-made device for the cleaning of
MIG-welder tips, which appearently is something that has to be under-
taken periodically.
I should've come back earlier - but forgot all about it,until today.

ONE THING they all agreed on - is that it is not a cartridgecase-projectile
combination for use in any firearm.
