How much would you pay for this Luger P08, It has all matching numbers, dated 1939, and has 42 code marking. It has 90% of the blueing, has a Holster dated 1939, un marked loading tool and non matching clip. Thanks!!!

Looks reblued to me. I can't see the gripstraps - but if you're the buyer, let some Lugerexpert have a look at it before you spend. If you're the seller - just wait - until you find someone who can't live without it.

If it's completely original(not reblued or with the wooden furniture changed) it can go up to $3,000, but the non-matching clip and loading tool cut down the price.

If your selling contact the owner of this website
http://www.worldoflugers.com/index.htm
If your buying contact same. He is the best dealer to work with.
IMHO around $1000 maybe a little less. Is the holster the original one?

Are working Lugers still produced? (Not non-firing reproductions) If so where can one be purchased?

Mitchell Arms(USA) made some in stainles steele a few years ago,
one with 100mm barrel and one with 150mm.

My guess is that the quality is quite poor :?

At least they were produced until a few years ago, by ERMA(Germany) and AF Stoeger(NY, USA), but only in .22 calibre, for target shooting(although the world military forces had dismissed it due to high cost and need for careful manufacture, its tremendous accuracy still attracts target shooters :D )

My dad brought back a luger like that with the "42" marking stamped on the top of the receiver. I had always that was some kind of "double-dating" of the gun.

I agree; its good to know the value even though its not for sale.

Ralph Shattuck, the owner of that website is busy alot of the time so if you e-mail him don't be suprised if you don't get a reply for a couple days!

I saw him at the Kansas City, MO show on the 26th of August, He even let me hold the .45 caliber Luger carbine! (Price tag is $1,000,000 U.S.) Which has been the subject of much debate and controversy! If you visit his site there will be a link to pictures of the carbine!

How much would I pay? How MUCH would I PAY? A LOT! Alas, I don't have that much money, but I've been a Luger fan for as long as I can remember...
