Mp44 In action

Anyone have pics of the MP44 in combat situations?
I saw an awesome piece of footage the other day of one being used.
Is there a place where newsreel footage can be downloaded? Im mostly interested in German footage.

Isn't one of the SS men carrying one in the famous footage from Poteau?

I recall seeing one.

I think I know the one you mean.
Ive seen a few pics of men carrying them etc, but wanted something where its either being fired or in a general combat situation.

I've never seen any combat footage of one. Any such may have been lost when the film burned after the war... the stuff that burned was mainly late war and that's when the MP44 was around.

Sad, really.

I saw a good clip just the other day, it had a soldier in a dug-out firing, looked pretty impressive, just cant remeber what program it was now.

I have a video taped of a series that was on last year called Servants of Evil And it was the 1h part of it called The last Battle:The Battle of Berlin and it showed quite a good bit of combat footage in it including and MP44 being fired several times. I know this doesnt answer your question much but if it ever comes on you know what to look for  . One part in there I though was strange but funny was a man on an MG42 smoking a pipe while fireing.

Ive seen a few programs about the Battle for Berlin.
Last one was a series called Battlefield. Ive seen the clip you mentioned, pretty good. One thing does annoy me about this type of program, they mix up footage from anytime of the war just to keep the action going.

I think this is the one you saw on the television.
Here's a still capture from that clip.
Plus, you can see the whole videoclip on this site:

But I must warn you it may take some time if you have a bad connection.

Maybe this one.
This is a gif (around 100K) so give it a little time to download.

Do you know if MP44 were used on the Normandy TO during june/july 1944 ? Or were they mainly used on the eastern front at the beginning ?
