Ok there is a k98 at a gun show I am looking at. Its from 1938, all matching, non import. Original sling. Great condition. Its $795. is that a good price?

I a little high priced I think, depends on how bad you want it. Can get a fine grade one on Armsauction for 550.00

Will give you something to compare to, there is also one for 800.00 And it is is in excellent shape. Of course it is an auction so they may go higher.

Actually teenagers can be interested in firearms too! I have been interested in Lugers for a long time now and, I have made friends with several Luger experts!

Hey,
It's none of my business but, if it's in really good condition I wouldn't shoot it! if you were to break a numbered part (providing it is all matching #'s) you would regret it!!!

If you want a Mauser to shoot you would be better off getting one in lesser condition or an armory refinished one from someplace like Yugoslavia for $100 to $200. Or a Spanish Mauser that has a shorter barrel and is easy to carry around. Then you can shoot cheap surplus ammo to your hearts content.
If 70 grains of IMR 4064 in a 7.92x57 case behind a 197 gr. fmj is too much then 85 grains should be just right.

Then why are you asking?

And 1938 has not one thing to do with the worth of the rifle.

If you are buying to shoot go by a M48A for 150 bucks.

And if you missed it I said it was an auction and could go higher. As far as I am concerned the rifles are not worth 250.00 bucks.
