FG 42 with scope in action

Does anyone have any information about the FG 42 equipped with scope in action? Apparently these were quite common and I would like to know about marksmen and snipers (not likely but can't help asking) using this weapon.

regards

Hi Charlie

The only info that I can really give you is as follows

The particular version of the FG 42 that was fitted with the ZF 42 scope was the second version with wooden butt and redesigned pistol grip.

Unfortunately I am unable to give you any information as to how this weapon performed in actual combat.

I can however, try and put a photo of the above onto the site as and when I can get onto a scanner.

Regards

Bob :D

Thanks, if it's only a picture of the weapon I think I can obtain it by myself. I haven't, however, yet seen a combat photo of a scoped FG.

regards
