I beg your pardon, but if Mohs had been made a GL in 1924, both he and the NS authorities surely would have noticed this by 1942. If Mohs himself signs as a GM in 1942, he was no GL, regardless of what Herr Montag or anybody else may claim. Besides this, Charakter promotions were usually issued at the end of a month (at least after 1921).

For Generals of this time period you can use the Google book snippets from Wegner's Stellenbesetzung (example: https://www.google.com/search?tbm=bks&q ... nbesetzung) and/or Lexikon der Wehrmacht. For those who where Wehrmacht generals, you will find complete biographies at Axis Biographical Research (from Abberger to Lutz for Heer). Or, generally, usually a search in google or in google books will suffice.

So for example you can quickly find

Bansi, Paul (12.01.1867 – 27.07.1939)
Bethcke, Ernst (29.04.1868 - 01.10.1939) (see here)
