Lockstedter Lager

#16

Post by Seesoldat » 08 Jan 2007, 11:26

You show a photo of the "Lockstedter Lager". Do you know that "Lockstedter Lager" was the traditional training area of the German Marine Infantry prior to WWI? The Bataillons had to show their skills and the Inspection of Marine Infantry gave every year marks for their performance in duty.

Do you have any more photos of the "Lockstedter Lager"?

Hello Seesoldat,

nice to meet another German interested in the Deutsche Marine - that is you in this forum.

I'm especially interested in the uniforms and traditions of the Kaiserliche Marine and the Seebataillons / Marineregimenter too.

Cheers

Hello there interested in Kaiserliche Marine / Seebataillons / Marine-Regiments,

thank you for posting these very good photos. Does any one have more good photos of soldiers of the Kaiserliche Marine - not those tiny little photos with a bad quality?
I'm especially interested in photos of field-grey dressed naval personnel, eg pilots, soldiers of the Marine-Regimenter, Marine-Artillerie-Regimenter a.s.o. I'm also interested in pilots dressed in navy-blue or in leather-dress.

Thank you for posting.

If anyone is interested in those photos too, please contact me via the forum or if it doesn't work via e-mail:

[email protected]

but we should try to make via the forum, maybe anyone else is interested too.

Cheers to everyone interested in the Kaiserliche Marine from

Hi,

I search infos about the Hauptmann Oskar Wantke from the II. Seebataillon. I know this:
01.09.1913 - 03.08.1914 Chef der 3. Kompanie des II. Seebataillons
04.08.1914 - 00.07.1918 Kommandeur des VI. Seebataillons im Marine-Infanterie-Regiment 2
00.07.1918 Kommandeur des Marine-Infanterie-Regiments 1

Who knows more?

This website http://www.grosser-generalstab.de/sturm/sturm317.html has some illustrations of the Prussian Seebatallion in the Franco Prussian War. Has anyone seen any photos of the Seebatallione before the 1890's?
Cheers
Chris

Here's a picture of an unknown (possible a relative) that I found in some old family albums. Thanks to Tony at http://www.kaisersbunker.com , it looks like this person was in the 2nd Seebataillon. Here's a copy of the original picture, and a copy that I colorized using samples of colors from an internet picture of an actual See-Soldat uniform.
