Wilhelm II: "Hun Speech" (1900)

An Edison phonograph wax cylinder with the recording of Kaiser Wilhelm's notorious Hun Speech during the Boxer Rebellion has been found recently. The speech was made at Bremerhaven on July 27, 1900 as several German transport ships were ready to bring 2000 troops to China. The recording is in astonishly good condition but it's still unclear whether it's really Willy II speaking.

Now listen to Kaiser Bill: http://einestages.spiegel.de/s/tb/25969 ... nahme.html

The speech has become notorious only in WWI,when the Germans became the Huns. There was no commotion in 1900.
IMHO,the speech was not that different from Kipling's "Take up the white man's burden".
