Hptm Kolbe PiB 3 etc

Hi folks

I am searching an possible first name for Hptm x Kolbe who served in several Regimenten before BOW.
Seems he started his career in PiB 1 then served in PiB 3 until circa 1912.
After that he served in FüR 35 and IR 164.
I have his promotions but I dont have date and place of birth.

Hi Gunnar,

a first name (Otto) from the 1912/1913 Brandenburg Adreßbuch when he was a Leutnant in Füsilier-Regiment Nr. 35.

The regimental history for FR35 has been digitized. He's listed in the last peacetime Rangliste on pg. 514 but not the one for August 2 on pg. 361.

Hi Ken

That Regiment book has good info for those interested in FR 35, especially the loss lists within the Regiment. However it does only mention Kolbe as Leutnant Kolbe so it does not help to identify Kolbe further. It confirms that he had been transferred to IR 164 shortly before BOW.

Gunnar,

Leutnant Kolbe was transferred to IR 164 on the same day as his promotion to Oberleutnant: 4 July 1914.

Thanks Glenn for exact date of transfer.

Ken, the book about IR 164 seems to be one of the better Regiment books. However Otto Kolbe was probably only shortly within the Regiment during the War as he apparently mostly served within the Air Force.
