Hptm Peters died 1918

Hi

I am looking for basic info regarding Hptm Emil Peters from Holsteinische IR 85 who died early 1918 under unclear circumstances. Unfortunate his death seems not to be listed in any loss list.

As usual I am searching for possible date and place of birth :)

Maybe he is mentioned in the book about this Regiment ?
Beltz, Oskar: "Das Infanterie-Regiment Herzog von Holstein (Holst.) Nr. 85 im Weltkriege." 1925 Heide, Heider Anzeiger, 190 Seiten.

Hi Söderbaum,

I went through the regimental history of Infanterie-Regiment No. 85. Hauptmann Peters is mentioned at the end of the officers casualty list, but without any detail. Only "Furthermore, active officer from other units".

See attachment (I only have a Danish copy of the regimental history ...)

Frodo

Hi Frodo

Thanks for checking the Regiment book for IR 85 !, "sad" it could not solve my question :).

Despite that Hptm Emil Peters served within Holsteinische IR 85 it is a small chance that he actually had his roots in the Kassel area according to one other source.
Hopefully he will be solved some Day.

Mvh

Gunnar,

his date of death is listed in the "Ehrenmal des preußischen Offizierkorps" as 3 February 1918 as an Hauptmann in the General Staff of the 11. Armee in Macedonia.
