Hello fellow forum members,

I would welcome more information on the career of a Oberst von Schmeling, commander of Füs.Rgt.38 from 7 July 1868 to 20 February 1873. Before that he served in IR 66. Particularly I am looking for any connections between him and the Cadet Corps.
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards,
Sven

Sven,

his biography in the Offizier-Stammliste of IR 66 gives no indication that he ever served with the Cadet Corps. He did however, serve as a company officer and company commander at the Schul-Abtheilung of the Lehr-Infanterie-Bataillon, the precursor to the Unteroffizerschule at Potsdam.

Regards
Glenn

Glenn,
thank you very much for this useful bio. So he was a cadet himself in Kulm and Berlin.
Best regards
Sven
