The real source of Hitler Quote

#1

Post by speedlearner » 11 Jun 2018, 05:45

Many people today are discussing the following quote from Hitler's book, "He alone, who owns the youth, gains the Future!" I was wondering if he created this quote all by himself, or did he derive this idea from some ideology that not many people know about. It's possible that he formulated the words, but he may have obtained the idea from someone else's philosophy.

:welcome:

Yeah, I noticed that. Must be the billboard in Alabama story?

But I haven't seen any proof that Hitler actually said that. This quote is not from Mein Kampf.

The Nizkor Project recons it is from Hitler's September 15th 1935 speech:

"He alone, who owns the youth, gains the Future! Practical consequences of this doctrine: The boy will enter the Jungvolk (boy 10-14) and the Pmpf (members of the Jungvolk) will come to the Hitler Youth, and the boy of the Hitler Youth will join the SA, the SS and the other formations, and the SA man and the SS man will one day join the Labor Service, and from there he will go to the Armed Forces, and the soldiers of the people will return again to the organization of Movement, the Party, the SA, the SS, and never again will our people be so depraved as they were at one time."

But according to Domarus this fragment looked like this:

"What was once a two-year temporary schooling of the nation which was afterward lost in the course of life and in the political doings of the parties—that is now being given in trust and held in custody for the German Volk. Only then will the cycle of our Volk’s education be complete. The boys—they will become members of the Jungvolk, and the Pimpfs will join the Hitler Youth, and the young men of the Hitler Youth will then report for duty in the SA, the SS, and the other associations; and the SA men and the SS men will one day report for duty at the Labor Service and from there proceed to the Army; and the soldier of the Volk will return once more to the organization of the Movement, of the Party, to the SA and the SS, and never again shall our Volk degenerate as it once regrettably did!"

In German:

So, no quote there...

Relevant fragment of Hitler's speech as it appeared in print. Again, no "Hitler quote"!

Perhaps this post could be moved to Propaganda section of the Forum.
It has not much to do with Imperial Germany.
