From 1911 to 1914: Oberstleutnant, commanding Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 14
August 1914 : Oberst ?
Prisoner of war by Frenchs from 1914 to 1917 ?

His full name was : Eberhard Hilmar Heinrich Wolf von BRANDENSTEIN

New York public library has a copy of the RIR28 history, perhaps they would be willing to provide a scan or photo of the page.

There's a discussion here about someone who was a member of the regiment which includes a photo of men who may have been officers with the unit, although likely after 1916.

Kmdr of JgBtl 14 during visit from Großherzog FF IV. Right above the pastor and a couple of steps down from FF IV.
