Gunnar,

I don't have his date of birth just an observation. He is shown as "Ernst" Karbe in the 1913 Cüstrin Adreßbuch.

Glenn

Hi again

It apparently also means that I have wrong Regiment for my Heinrich Karbe, if the first name is correct in my files.

So my Karbe might have been the officer from DR 5, IR 77 or maybe from PiB 2. I need to search further. Unsure if the officer from PiB 2 actually was promoted Oblt during the War.

Hi Gunnar,

not sure that this helps:

Hansgeorg Karbe: IR 77

Günther Karbe: DR 5

Axel Karbe: PB 2

Impressing Glenn that you had all first names for those active officers :D

However you put me back on square one if my info that Heinrich actually is his first name. :(

I need to search more regarding candidates among the Reserve officers, it seems not to exist many. I have found one so far, an Lt dR from TrA 2 who was promoted Oblt dR (Halle a.S.) on 27.05.1916.

Date of death is Dec. 10, 1919 according to the Ehren-Rangliste in case you don't have that.

Thanks Ken !

No I did not have that info. I have meanwhile tried to figure out where the source for the first name as Heinrich origin from, but cannot find it. But he is listed with "this" first name at least from mid 1980s in one source. But your and Glenns info are based on more reliable sources.

Thanks again Ken for added info,

I was also to find the death note on ancestry.de. Hopefully Ernst is my wanted Karbe but it will take time to confirm that.
