What ship could be converted by the german in auxilary cruiser?

I wonder because I got a source saying that 13 could be converted but they only converted 11 during the great war

I count nine converted from steamships. Not including motorsailors, the 3 and 4 funneled large ocean liners and expedient field conversions.
Berlin, Vineta, Meteor, Möwe, Wolf (I), Greif, Wolf (II), Leopard

There were other ships converted for escort duty. For example Hermann was a Q-ship

The number 13 for HKs is from WW2 I believe. Would not be Imperial Navy.
I read in one of the WW2 HKs capt. memoirs that ships of a certain type tended to be on South Atlantic/Indian Ocean routes and German build was both noticeable and uncommon to use those areas during wartime.
