Hptm Habermann

Post by Söderbaum » 24 Mar 2022 14:39

Hi

I have an Hptm Habermann with an stab function in 9 German Army on the Western front during 1918.

So far I have only find one possible candidate, an Hptm dL x Habermann from originally TrB 17. Promoted Lt dR circa 1903 (Bromberg), to LwB Bromberg circa 1909. Oblt dL 30.10.1914, Hptm dL x. He had the LD2 since circa 1911.

Anyone who have added info on him ?

Hi Gunnar,

Rittmeister d.L. (27.1.16) Gustav Habermann was the former TB 17 reserve officer. An architect by profession, he was serving with Etappen Fuhrpark-Kolonne 18, 15. Landwehr-Division at the time of his promotion to Rittmeister. As a train officer he would not have held the rank of Hauptmann.

Thanks Glenn,

Strange, however I have like 15 documents (not handwritten) from the summer of 1918 where this Habermann signed as Hptm. A possible solution could be an old re-activated officer. I did only look back to around 1900 in RQLs and MWBs. There where some old men who served as observers in the Fliegertruppe in the early part of WW1, like born 1850s. :o

Hi again Dave,

I got an idea that Hptm Habermann might have been an A-H officer !?. I knew that A-H sent some flying officers to Westfront during summer of 1918. For example did FAA 281 have two A-H officers, Lt dR x Seeburg and an Rittm x Strasser.
