Hallo allerseits,

Hello everybody,

can someone help with the assignment? Based on the initials FWR, I assume the reign of Friedrich Wilhelm II, nephew and successor of Old Fritz.

The eagle is slightly curved, dimensions are approximate 47 x 29 mm.

arche-foto,

at first glance a part of a drum decoration, a kind of decoration for a "Gespiel" of that time,
but it is much too small, we will find a better answer later, sorry... :?

Where did you find this ?

A "cleaning" with "Sodablasting" would be possible, but be careful, the Eagle is antique...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodablasting

We use soda blasting for vintage and antique motorcycle parts, mostly for old Harley and Indian motorcycles,
the work cleans the parts and does not remove anything, if the man at the machine knows what he is working on...

Hello Hans,

I found the eagle about 10 km north of Potsdam. Thus a clear reference to Potsdam.

Probably used in the Third Reich by a traditional regiment.

best regards - arche-foto

Moin arche-foto,

So it's a detector find, now the penny has dropped for me...

The Wehrmacht cap badge "Schwedter Adler" is it to 99 percent, a nice find, please look at the comparison pictures:

"Schwedter Adler": https://www.google.com/search?q=schwedt ... =759&dpr=1

Forget about soda-blasting the little badge, my advice was nonsense, keep it, as it is.

Weekend greetings! :milwink:
