Oberkommando der Küstenverteidigung

#1

Post by USAF1986 » 24 Oct 2003, 03:15

Hi! Does anyone have any details of the Oberkommando der Küstenverteidigung or Coastal Defense High Command? I know the command existed from 14 April 1916-16 November 1918 and was commanded successively by Generaloberst Ludwig Freiherr von Falkenhausen and Generaloberst Josias von Heeringen, however, that’s about it! Where exactly was this command based? Did it control all army units engaged in coastal defense duties in Germany proper?

Any details would be most appreciated!

Regards,
Shawn

Hi Shawn!

Extremely belated, and very little, but the Oberkommando der Küstenverteidigung had its HQ in the Raffles Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg. That's all I have unfortunately.

Regards,

VJK
