Hi Helmut,

indeed it was. The "incidents" at Cartagena on 23 July and off Malaga on 1 August 1873 cost Reinhold Werner his sea-going career although he did rise to the rank of Vize-Admiral later.

hi,

from a navy man, a navy question : The wanted person is the first German naval engineer ("Ing.") to reach (after 1919, not in the Imperial navy !) flag rank. During WW I, he was chief engineer of a very successful submarine and the only naval engineer to received the Knight´s Cross of the "Hausorden of Hohenzollern".
