Gentlemen!

This man was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela in 1895. Venezuela I assume had a large German community and that Carlos was born of German parents right? When did he had his first name changed to Karl? I know that he served with Jasta 11 and 4 and scored four victories before he became an intructor at Jastaschule II. What did he did after the war? I need a truthful answer to this particular man. I heard that Meyer was back in Venezuela helping to create that country's air force. Were there any German WWI pilots helping him? By the way, can a German who wants to live in a Latin country change his first German name to a Latin one such Alfred to Alfredo?
