Post by Peter H » 13 May 2004 13:57

Martin Frost(1875-1928) produced around 260 paintings and sketches of the German frontline experience of war 1914-18.His attempts at showing the realism of combat put him in the forefront of German war artists of WW1.Periodicals at the time heavily promoted Frost's works, bringing to the German public the ordeal of the frontline soldier.

A stark contrast to Vogel's paintings, thats for sure.

Excellent works though, they certainly capture the feeling of the war very well.
