Symbol History Query

#1

Post by Phil V » 23 Aug 2004, 13:10

I am led to believe that the Totenkopf (Deaths Head) symbol has it's history with the Prussian military (Hussars?).

Can anyone assist with information / pictures?

Any information appreciated.

You are correct. The Deaths Head symbol is strongly associated with the Hussars. Peter H (Moulded) has posted at least one picture with female royalty even wearing it.

However, August von Mackensen is always a good example of the Deaths Head.
