Hi Alte Mann,
Regards
Glenn
A variety of sources but chief among them the published Army Lists (Rangliste), and the excellent Biblio Verlag Stellenbesetzung der Deutschen Heere 1815-1939. Additional information from regimental officers' lists (Stammliste) and histories of the PLM etc.Glenn2438, where do you get this information? I'm not disputing any of it, but am curious.
Regards
Glenn

Hi Peter!
Ludwig Sieger - the link you posted contains an error, Sieger in fact commanded XVIII Reservekorps from 11.9.1917 - 30.1.1919 (when the Korps was disbanded), not the XXVIII Reservekorps. I also have Sieger as a General der Artillerie, but unfortunately can't find any substantiating evidence. Perhaps our good friend Glenn can help us on that point.
Regards,
VJK

Hi Peter,
Once again, my ten cents worth:
Generalleutnant Rudolf HAMMER (1862 - 1926)
Commanding Officer, 24. (2. Saxon) Infantry Division
Acting Commanding Officer, 32. (3. Saxon) Infantry Division
Commanding Officer, 89. (8. Saxon) Infantry Brigade
I have no record of a General Graf von Keyserlingk, sorry.
Best wishes,
AJK

Keyserlingk
Peter,
I have to come to the conclusion that the original caption of Graf Keyserlingk was in error. No general officer of that name served in any contingent of the German Army during WW1 and the photograph does not depict an individual of General Officers' rank. Two possiblities:
Major, later Oberstleutnant z.D. Alfred Graf von Keyserlingk-Neustadt (1857-1929), one-time commander of Flieger-Ersatz-Abteilung 1 in Döberitz or more likely:
Hauptmann, later Major a.D. Albin-Karl von Keyserlingk (1887-?) on the staff of Army Group F, a Marine-Infanterie Officer. The jacket looks like a Kleiner Rock for the Naval Infantry and the shoulder boards appear to be the straight edged company officers' pattern.
VJ,
Ludwig Sieger was still listed as a Generalleutnant in the 1919 Dienstaltersliste although as a General der Artillerie in the Ehrenrangliste. It is safe to assume he was promoted to the charakter rank of General der Artillerie on retirement.
Regards
Glenn
