Where To Begin a WWI Vet Search?

#1

Post by David C. Clarke » 09 Sep 2002, 01:23

Hi Guys, a friend of mine had a Great-Great Grandfather who was a veteran of the German Army on the Ostfront in World War I. Where would he start to look for his G-G-Grandfather's service record? Is it still possible to find? What kind of information would be required for him to begin the search? Thanks Much and Best Regards, David :D

Just a few minutes ago I was searching for my great-grand-dad. You could go to ancestry.com for a price I think. Its pretty expensive whatever it is. They have everything though, or so they say.
Regards,
Zachary
