MURNAU IN THE IMPERIAL AIR FORCE

A few time ago I red something about F.W. Murnau serving in an air squadron, but I thought it wasn't true...

Until I found it.

Herr Murnau, the great film director with the German uniform. The site says he served in the German Air Corp, and that he suffered some accidents, but he had no great injuries. Anybody could add me more information about it?

Best regards!

Gwynn, I found this information:
Murnau was born Friedrich Wilhelm Plumpe on December 28, 1888 in Bielefeld, Westphalia, Germany. He took the name "Murnau" from a town in Germany. He studied art history at the University of Heidelberg and learned theatre by working in the acting company of Max Reinhardt. He was a combat pilot during World War I and directed his first film in 1919.

I guess he was 26 to 30, alright? I will check more precise information. Regards. Wintceas.
