Re: The official AHF Imperial German Army & Navy quiz thread
Thanks Chris,
in 1909 the ranks of Zeugsergeant and Depot-Vizefeldwebel were superceded. What title of rank did these NCOs then adopt?
Regards
Glenn

OK, I'll offer a question get the ball rolling again-
Of the 217 Infantry Regiments of the Imperial Army in 1914 only one was not authorised to wear the Pickelhaube spiked helmet. Which one?
Cheers

Thanks Chris,
in similar vein, go back about another twenty five years or so and another infantry regiment also did not wear the Pickelhaube. Which regiment was that? And I am not talking about the Bavarian Raupenhelme!

Could that be the Braunschweigisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr.92 who still wore their old black Tshako and Polrock tunic up until 1892?
Cheers

It looks like what the old DH Hagger book on Hussars calls Mounted Field Courier Corps, but they've got Litzen... I'll have another think in the morning!

Re: The official AHF Imperial German Army & Navy quiz thread
I think we need a bit of a clue,
Chris, he is not from the Reitendes Feldjägerkorps. In fact, it is not a Prussian uniform. The style of "flap" piping at the rear and the lower edge of the tunic are specific to one contingent.

Glenn
