I doubt if Foto 56 was v Denzel. Man in Foto 56 was more likely the Mj/OTL/Obst who was with Prinz Alfons and Prinz Konrad in a 30.09.1928 parade of 1 IR "König", without wound badge.

Foto 55 was v Denzel. He was born in 1879, started the war as a Lt and ended the war as a Hptm. Much younger looking than the Bavarian with braided shoulder boards in Foto 56. I don't know when v Denzel became Mj. He was not in the 1926 Ehrenrangliste nor in the 1932 RH Rangliste. He was OTL in 1940.

Thanks

Meant to say Man in Foto 56 was more likely the Mj/OTL/Obst - ANOTHER FOTO IN THE SAME KONVOLUT - who was with Prinz Alfons and Prinz Konrad in a 30.09.1928 parade of 1 IR "König", without wound badge.

On Foto 58 - not at all. The seller had no idea what he was talking about. I recall Glenn and Daniel speculated that it was Robert Paul very many years ago. But there really wasn't much to go with as Bavarians often had very generic decorations. Another few years went by and this often reproduced picture turned up as a postcard indeed with Robert Paul on the back.

I managed to spot a younger Robert Paul from Regimentsgeschichte of bayr 8 IR.

Thanks

Methinks it is Alois Frhr. Reichlin von Meldegg. Certainly not Ritter von Höhn.

Glenn

Does anyone recognize this staff officer, taken at 21.Infanterie-Regiment in 1927. He is wearing an old uniform, so I guess he was not an active officer anymore.

That wouid be ObstLt/Obst Wilhelm Ritter v Reitzenstein. He was Btl Kmdr III/IR 21, then Rgt Kmdr of IR 21.
Char als GenMj 31.10.32 upon his retirement.

Interesting that in the 1927 Rangliste section I posted here, fellow MMJO recipient Ritter v Hörauf was in den Rgt Stab

Thanks
